1. How does travel nursing work?
The current nursing shortage is no secret. Hospitals around the country are in desperate need for nurses to help treat our ageing population! Travel nurses are professionals who drop in for 8-26 weeks intervals to help with these shortages. That's why Hospitals work with 3D Medical! We have the best staff around!
2. Who can be a travel nurse?
Travel nurses are Registered Nurses with typically 12-24 months of hospital-based RN experience in their field. Depending on the specialty or the specific requirements of the facility, the required work experience may be longer.
3. What is salary like for a travel nurse
This can vary based on the specialty, location and company you travel with! Generally you should see $1500/wk up to $3500+
4. How long are travel nursing assignments?
Most travel nursing assignments are 13 weeks long but can be as short as 8 weeks or as long as 26 weeks. Extensions are not uncommon either!
5. Where can travel nurses go?
You can travel from Guam to Maine, Alaska to Florida and everywhere in between. Our staff has traveled to Billings, Montana to San Francisco, California!
6. Can I take a travel assignment close to my home?
You absolutely can! The distance from your home determines eligibility for certain tax free stipends but there is no limit on where you can go.
7. Am I eligible for benefits like health insurance?
We are proud to offer a great selection of Health Insurance options for our travel nurse staff. Insurance coverage continues through the last day of your assignment.
8. Is travel nursing good for career advancement?
Traveling as a nurse increases your skill level and makes you a more eligible candidate for future nursing jobs. Why? a. It exposes you to different regional nursing procedures and patient populations. b. You may have the opportunity to work in a wider variety of specialties. c.
